Yesterday, we took the boys to Nationals Park to see the Nats take on the Orioles. It was an amazingly beautiful spring day and the ballpark was packed! The boys did really great and we were able to sit in our seats for about 6 of the 9 innings. After a rough start, the Nats came from behind and won 9 -3 and with the help of a homerun from the pitcher! WOW! And it was free t-shirt (or dress) day for the kids!

A Beautiful Mother's Day
We had a busy day planned this Mother's Day. After church, we met my family for brunch at Alto Plaza in Centreville. We had about an hour wait to kill, so we crossed the street (highway might be a better description) and had fun taking photos in this beautiful patch of wild flowers.
As always, the boys love goofing around with Uncle Matt.
After a wonderful brunch, we headed home and Andrew and I took long naps. Ahhhh, what a treat. Pretty soon it was time to meet up with Dan's family in Brambleton for dinner at Blue Ridge Grill and dessert at Sweet Frog.

We had a lovely day stuffing ourselves with delicious food and spending time with our Moms!
Strawberry Picking
A friend mentioned she had just taken her girls strawberry picking and the idea stuck. So on Saturday afternoon we headed west to Wegmeyer's Farm to pick some strawberries, which also made a great gift the next day for our Moms. It was a beautiful afternoon and believe it or not, we picked more than we ate!
Andrew's Party at Daycare
While I enjoyed the Science Fair, Dan celebrated Andrew and his buddy Calvin's 3rd birthdays at Lanka's house. Andrew still loves Elmo and he loved his Elmo cupcakes. All the kids had a lot of fun and Andrew was really excited to get his own bubble mower! Now both boys can help Daddy mow the lawn!
Science Fair
Nathan's class at Discovery Station hosted a science fair for the parents to show us some of the things the class has been learning. Nathan's teacher gave Nathan a larger speaking role because she knows how much he likes to talk. : ) He did great hosting the experiment on mixing the primary colors! The kids were adorable and very impressive. And of course, the exploding volcano was the big hit!
Picnic Dinner at Gravelly Point
On Sunday, we packed up the leftovers from Andrew's party and headed to Gravelly Point for dinner. The boys had a ton of fun riding their scooters, playing ball and watching the planes take off and land. It also brought back memories for Dan and I of blading and riding bikes on the path alongside the Potomac River. We still miss living in the South Arlington/Alexandria area.
It's a 3 Alarm Birthday Party!
It's really hard for us to believe, but on May 5th, our baby boy turned 3! This year, May 5th fell on a Saturday so we held Andrew's party on his actual birthday. Since we had already done a Cinco de Mayo theme (bummer), I wanted to do something else. I finally settled on a firetruck theme, which seemed a bit challenging at first, but it turned out to be great fun. And luckily the rain held off long enough, because the biggest hits with the kids were the two firefighter obstacle courses. On the first course, the kids raced through a ladder and tunnel to help Lucy down from the tree. On the second course, the kids raced to the fire hydrant to retrieve their water balloons to put out the "fire". There were just so many fun pictures from the party that it was hard to choose the best for this blog. But here are a couple (okay, maybe more than a couple) photos, in no particular order, that capture the celebration!
