Celebrate South Riding

Every year, our neighborhood hosts "Celebrate South Riding" the first weekend of June. We were not planning to go this year as it was the same weekend as our 15 year college reunion (15 years..... wow, it's been that long?!?!) , but at the last minute our weekend plans changed. So after Dan finished coaching the last week of Nathan's soccer, we headed over to the festival to enjoy the rides, food and entertainment.
Andrew may not have enjoyed this slide, but pretty soon, we couldn't keep him off the moonbounce slides.

Memorial Weekend at Lake Anna

While Dan was away in Charlotte, I took the boys to Lake Anna for the first time this year. Unfortunately, I suffered through an allergic reaction to some antibiotics the whole weekend, but the boys had tons of fun playing with my parents and brother.
During the weekend, Andrew mastered his fishing rod and could cast and reel in his line all by himself. Andrew also started to relax and enjoy the "big" boat rides a little bit more.

The boys also had a blast launching and chasing the flying helicopter.

Bachelor Party Mayhem in Charlotte

Over Memorial Day Weekend, Dan headed to Charlotte for the NASCAR race with his brothers and some other guys to celebrate Chad's upcoming wedding. I cannot really comment too much on the festivities, but I can tell you that they rented an RV and pitched some tents in the infield for 2 nights. I understand that it was noisy, but lots of fun. Here are some random photos from the weekend. If you want more details about the weekend, then you will need to talk to Dan.

One of the guys apparently served as Master Chef for the weekend and here is a photo of one of his delicious breakfasts. I believe he somehow rigged a car battery to power his cooking surfaces?!?!?

The Cousins take on a Museum

While the girls enjoyed the bridal shower, Dan and Ryan ventured downtown with the kids to the Air & Space Museum. From what I heard, the kids had a lot of fun exploring the museum, eating a McDonalds lunch and picking out a toy from the gift shop. I think the photos confirm a fun time was had by all!

Bridal Shower Fun

The morning after the pre-wedding celebration at the Vaughan's, I hosted a bridal shower for Crissi.

The menu consisted of Cheddar Broccoli Mini-Quiches, Sausage Balls, Spinach Salad and Fruit. We laughed through a modified game of Scattergories with some very creative answers.

And we also stuffed ourselves with a variety of delicious desserts and treats.

I wish I had more photos to share from the shower.... but I did not end up taking that many. Luckily, there was another "photographer" who captured the fun in photos for Crissi.

Pre-Wedding Celebration

In May, Dan's parents hosted a celebration for family & friends in honor of Chad & Crissi's upcoming wedding. The wedding is in 5 days.... which is one of my main reasons for getting caught up on the blog. I have a feeling I'll have a lot more photos to post after the weekend. In any case, the weather was perfect in May for the outdoor celebration.

The cousins, of course, had lots of fun playing together and luckily none of them ended up in the pool.

Cheers to Chad & Crissi!

Andrew was a little over zealous with his toasting.... if you look closely, you can see a shadow across my chest (it kind of looks like a necklace) and the champagne flying out of the glass.

Andrew's Party at Daycare

In mid-May, there was a small birthday celebration at Andrew's daycare to celebrate his birthday, as well as two of his friends. Nathan and I were excited to join the celebration.

In addition to dancing, the kids had fun pretending to be rock stars with Andrew's new guitar.
