The Sanctuary at Sandbridge Beach

In mid August, we shared a four bedroom condo with our friends Zack & Dana, and their two kids, Conner & Emmy, at Sandbridge Beach. It was a beautiful, relaxing week and the kids had a blast playing in the pools and on the beach. A couple of other highlights of the week included a trip to a local petting farm, an evening out for ice cream and bingo at the firehouse, playing tennis, flying kites and riding bikes along the boardwalk at Virginia Beach. I hope you enjoy this smattering of photos highlighting our fun beach vacation.

August at the Lake

We snuck in one last trip to Lake Anna in early August. And after the string of extremely hot weather we had been having, the water at Lake Anna was quite warm as well. It was more like very warm bath water (over 90 degrees!). The boys had fun playing on the newest addition to the water adventures at the lake:

Andrew also got in on some of the jumping fun! Then we also enjoyed some of the standard fun on Big Mable, the big boat, the dock and the kayak.

Oh, and it's my birthday too

After returning home from DC, my parents came over to celebrate my birthday. We decided to go to Ruby Tuesdays because it really close by and then enjoyed some birthday cake out on the deck.
Any night I don't have to cook is a good night in my book! Happy Birthday to me! (Don't get me wrong, I do enjoy cooking when I have the time to actually focus on it.)

Fieldtrip to DC

Time to catch up on some blogging...... Way back in August, the 9th to be exact (I remember because it was my birthday), I accompanied Nathan and his class on trip a DC. In the morning, we took a tour of the White House (which was ok) and then had a picnic lunch. After lunch, we walked around the Air & Space Museum. The kids really enjoyed participating in a short presentation about the space shuttle.

The kids did great and had a lot of fun!
