Happy Halloween!
On Halloween night, my parents and Aunt joined us for dinner. Then they manned the door, while we took Obi-Wan Kenobi and Yoda out for a little bit of trick or treating.
Halloween Party
After the trunk or treating, we headed over to the Korsvalls for some more Halloween fun. Here's the group all dressed up in their costumes. Aren't they all getting big?
After the obligatory photo session, we let the kids have some fun doing a pumpkin craft, hunting for hidden pumpkins, playing hot "pumpkin", and eating a yummy dinner.
Trunk or Treat
The Friday before Halloween Nathan's class at Discovery Station had a Halloween Party and the whole daycare enjoyed some "trunk or treating".
Nathan was very disappointed that Dan and I did not have costumes this year (as you may recall... last year we were a Super Hero family). So at the last minute, I threw together this Witch costume and some decorations for the van.
Here is a sampling of a few other cars that I parked near.
Ethan's Baptism
We stayed the night in Charlottesville and the next morning, we went to church to witness and celebrate Ethan's baptism.

Mario Kart Party
At the end of October, we travelled to Charlottesville to celebrate our nephew's 7th birthday. Carter selected a Mario Kart theme for his party this year and the kids had an absolute blast. The kids divided into two teams, Team Mario and Team Luigi, and had fun winning coins for their team with different games and the exciting grand prix race.

Celebrating 10 Years on the Seas
On October 27th, Dan and I reached a milestone..... 10 years of marriage! We wanted to celebrate with something exciting and finally settled on taking a cruise with the boys. Our friends, Brandi and Tim, who were also celebrating 10 years of marriage, joined us with their two kids and Brandi's parents. So on October 15th, we set sail on the Disney Magic for a 7 night cruise in the Caribbean.
It was a full week of food, fun and Disney characters. The weather could have been better, but looking on the bright side, it also could have been much worse (we did risk going during the tail end of hurricane season). And travelling with four kids ages 5 and under.... well, let's just say, despite Disney's amazing efforts at entertaining the kids, vacationing is just not quite as relaxing as it was on our honeymoons! Here's just a sampling of some photos from our adventures aboard the Disney Magic.
Fall Festival #2
Given our rainy fall, our plans to head to the Cox Farms Fall Festival had to be postponed several times. But finally, on Columbus Day, we made it there (along with half of Northern Virginia). Note to self and others..... try not to go to Cox Farms on Columbus Day..... it is SUPER CROWDED! Despite the lines, we had a wonderful time and enjoyed a long awaited beautiful day outside.
