President's Day Bounce

On President's Day, we were eager to get the boys active, but it was a bit chilly outside. So we headed over to the Sport Bounce in Ashburn for some play time.

Andrew is still a little leery of the bounces, but after awhile he warmed up and had some fun playing with Nathan.

Nathan's 5th Birthday

After Pump It Up, we headed home and celebrated Nathan's birthday again, this time with family.

This year, Nathan chose the Backyardigans as the theme for his birthday. After searching online and brainstorming some, I settled on making these cupcakes.
The hardest part was finding all the punches to cut out the paper circles. :)

Partying at Pump It Up

For Nathan's birthday this year, he celebrated with LOTS of friends at Pump It Up in Manassas.
The kids has tons of fun jumping, bouncing and sliding.

It was a super fun party, that I was also able to enjoy too!

It's Birthday Season

Over the last few weeks, it has been birthday party central in Nathan's class. Nathan has had lots of fun celebrating at Chuck E Cheese..... and most recently with a swim party at Cub Run Rec Center.

It's been great to have these birthday parties to enjoy on the weekends. We are all getting a little stir crazy and can't wait for spring to arrive, so we can get outside more.

Wardrobe Malfunction

One afternoon, Dan went to get Andrew up from his nap and found him like this.
We're not quite sure what went on during naptime. :)

Superbowl Party

We spent Superbowl Sunday at my parent's house stuffing our faces and watching the game.
Nathan also made this fun "city" with some old school blocks.

Dance Party

A few weeks ago, we had some fun with some old friends...... dancing the night away with Wii - Just Dance 2.
Even Andrew got into the action.

Things then got a little crazy with a good old dance party.

It was a fun and exhausting evening!

Tech Whiz

What can I say? Andrew is very interested in the computer and mouse these days.

Afternoon at the Museum

The last weekend of January we were itching to get out of the house. So we decided to trek into DC and visit the Museum of Natural History. Given the recent snowstorm and the unknowns of finding street parking, we decided to take the metro.

We had taken Nathan here when he was a little over a year old, so we thought Andrew might enjoy it. And he LOVED it. He loved the freedom of romping around and checking out all of the animals.

A Snow Day

After last year, the boys were prepared with snow boots and jackets, sleds and shovels for this winter. Nathan was concerned that he wouldn't get to go sledding again this year. But finally it came on a Wednesday afternoon in late January, and it came down quick. It was thundersnow, which was really weird. I noticed the thunder and lightning as I was driving home that afternoon and did not know what to make of it. And luckily, both Dan and I had left work before 3 o'clock, so we did not get stuck in the horrendous traffic that many other people did. So Thursday, was the long awaited snow day and we all had fun sledding (except for Andrew - he's still not very adventurous.)

The Ballerinas

While Nathan and I were in Arizona, Dan and Andrew took a road trip to Charlottesville to celebrate Isabelle's 4th Birthday. It was a super cute Ballerina party. Isabelle and her friend all came dressed in their dancing attire.
We did not have a leotard or tights for Andrew, so he went with the sweater and jeans look. Luckily, there was no shortage of tiaras and tutus and Andrew fit right in. He had a blast playing and twirling around with the girls.

Sunny Arizona

Near the end of January, Nathan and I took a special trip together out to Arizona to visit one of my friends from high school. It was really great to leave the cold weather behind and enjoy a few days in the sun. One afternoon, we drove to a nearby park to walk around and explore the desert terrain. Devon and Nathan had a blast playing together all weekend.
We also enjoyed a few hours at the Phoenix Zoo. Check out that blue sky........
Nathan and Devon were brave. Both boys took a turn feeding the giraffes...
and petting the sea rays. I, on the other hand, was happy to just step back and snap the photos.

One of the main reasons for our trip was to visit the newest addition to their family, Landry, before Brandi's maternity leave ended. Here are a couple of cute photos of this sweet baby girl.

It was a great trip!!!
