The Reston Zoo

A couple of weekends ago, Dan was out of town for work. So the boys and I had a few days to enjoy time together. We spent Friday morning exploring the Reston Zoo for the first time. Nathan had fun feeding the animals.
Although the Reston Zoo is a bit small, they had some very interesting animals. Like a porcupine....

and some llamas.....and some camels. But like most outings, I think snack time was their favorite part!

Happy Easter!

After a long fun day trip to Charlottesville, we drove home and prepared for a special holiday, Easter. We started off the morning with a little egg hunt in the basement.

The boys had fun searching for the eggs and finding their baskets (or bags).

After breakfast, we went to Chantilly Bible Church to celebrate the true meaning of Easter, the resurrection of our Lord, Jesus. After church, we went to my aunt's house and enjoyed a delicious lunch and time with my extended family.

It was a beautiful day and the boys were dressed nicely, so I tried to get a picture of the them with a budding tree ..... but to get them both smiling at the same time is nearly impossible. Here's the best I came up with.

Courtesy of Grammy and Pop Pop, the boys enjoyed another egg hunt and lots of Easter treats from the rest of the family.

Happy 1st Birthday, Ethan!

Last Saturday, we had a great time celebrating Ethan's 1st birthday. How is it even possible that one year has gone by since our drive to Charlottesville to meet this cute little guy?!?!
Ethan's grandma made this adorable "Hungry Little Caterpillar" cupcake cake for all of the hungry little birthday guests (and the big ones too!).

Springtime Fun

One nice weekend, we took our first longer bike ride to a playground on the far side of our neighborhood. Andrew enjoyed being pulled along in the buggy. Nathan did a great job riding all the way there and back. It truly is amazing how well Nathan is riding his 2 wheeler! In addition to some playtime and the beautiful weather, we enjoyed a picnic lunch at the playground.

Who wants some cupcakes?

At the beginning of April, Nathan and I enjoyed another play at the Adventure Theater. We went to see "If You Give a Cat a Cupcake" with Erin and Emilia. It was a bit silly, but lots of fun. Perfect for Nathan and Emilia!

After the play, we met up with the daddies and little siblings for dinner and of course, some cupcakes.

All of the cupcakes at the Red Velvet Cupcakery in the Reston Town Center were delicious!!
