Father's Day at Lake Anna

Over Father's Day weekend, we made a quick one night trip to Lake Anna with Dan's parents and his brother, Chad and his family.  The weather was gorgeous and we enjoyed our time on the boat and dock.  JP (aka Mr. Cool) also had fun on his first boat ride!

And Pop Pop was the fishing master!

Graduation

It's hard to believe, but on June 13th Andrew "graduated" from preschool.  We celebrated at Discovery Station with his friends and teachers, Ms. Laura and Ms. Ida (who were also Nathan's teachers a few years back).

Here's Andrew accepting his "Mathematician" award from Ms. Ida,
and then his diploma from Ms. Laura.

And after the graduation ceremony, Discovery Station celebrated its 5th birthday with a fun party out front.  It is hard to believe that it's been 5 years already.  Nathan started at Discovery the first day it opened!  Where had the time gone?

The Boys' Campout

Dan and the boys had an absolute blast camping for two nights with other families from Reston Bible Church at the annual Father & Kids Campout.  This was Dan and Nathan's third time on this trip, but the first for Andrew.  He was sooooo excited!  And it was the best weather ever.... not too hot during the day or at night.  As for me, I missed the boys but enjoyed a quiet weekend at home (and at the malls). :)

And now he's a gold stripe

In early June, Nathan was awarded his gold strip belt at Tae Kwon Do.  It really is amazing to see how much he has progressed since September.  His push-ups look more like push-ups and his form and kicks are much stronger and crisp.  But most importantly, he is still enjoying it and keeps talking about how he should be able to get his black belt when he's in the 4th grade.  :)

The season's coming to an end...

At long last, baseball season came to end in early June.  Both boys had a really fun time playing on their teams and we met some really great families.  Nathan had fun pitching this season for the first time and Andrew just loved everything about his first season.  But all things must come to an end.... and honestly, I'm ready for a little break in our schedule.  It was a very busy spring keeping up with practices and games for two kids!

Beautiful Day for (more) Baseball

After Nathan's baseball games on Friday and Saturday nights and Andrew's game on Saturday morning, what could be better than a little more baseball on Sunday at Nats Park???  It was a gorgeous day to be outside and the kids really watched most of the game.

But despite the rally caps, the Nats unfortunately lost the game.

But there was an unexpected bonus....  Although we didn't know it, this was another Little League Day at Nats Park.  So the boys ended up running the bases after the game!  It was Andrew's first time doing it.  He was little nervous at first to separate from Dan and me, but he made it all the way to home base!

Memorial Day Weekend at Lake Anna

We spent Memorial Day weekend at Lake Anna.  The water was still a little too cold to enjoy much water activities, so we kept ourselves busy in other ways.  Nathan was excited to practice his BB Gun skills again....
and Andrew even took a shot with Dan's assistance.
But the big reveal this weekend was the delivery of the newest "toy" - a golf cart for the Lake.

It was a gift from my brother and us to my parents (for many holidays to come) and they were TOTALLY surprised!
And the boys also squeezed in some fishing with neighbors!
