Vacation Part 1: Virginia Beach

We love to travel and have taken many trips with family and friends. But it has been a long time since we enjoyed a trip with just us. So on Monday, June 29th, we packed up our new mini-van (wait, I don't think I mentioned that new purchase yet on the blog.... I'll post a picture soon) with lots of stuff and headed to Virginia Beach. We cashed in some Marriott points (we love our Marriott Visas) and stayed three nights at a Residence Inn (we love the breakfast included) on the beach. I was a little nervous how Andrew would do (he was only 8 weeks old), but Andrew 2.0 did fabulous!

We spent Tuesday and Wednesday mornings on the beach where Nathan LOVED playing in the sand and water. The only thing that would have made Nathan's time more fun would have been having a playmate. Then we had lunch and naptime. Both afternoons, Andrew and Nathan napped at the same time. Dan and I hardly knew what to do with ourselves during that quiet time. (So I napped one day too.)

Tuesday evening, we had a wonderful dinner at Waterman's and "played" a round of mini-golf. Wednesday afternoon/evening, we rented a bike (after Nathan had hounded us for a day and 1/2 about wanting to ride the bikes) and road down the boardwalk to an early dinner. Thank you Nathan for being so insistent, because this was my favorite part of the trip. We then enjoyed some live music on the boardwalk while Nathan played on the playground on the beach.

It was a wonderful trip and we plan to head back to Virginia Beach again soon!
